Hello and welcome to the first ever Blind Health Expo!
My name is Andy Burstein from Accessible Pharmacy Services for the Blind. For those of you who are not familiar with us, we are a home delivery pharmacy service specializing in patients who are blind, DeafBlind, and low vision. We are the only provider of its kind, and the largest blind-owned healthcare company in the country.
We decided to create this Expo because we work with so many different groups- groups who are doing incredible things to serve the blind and low vision community. But what we realized is that quite often these groups don’t interact with one another. So the spirit of this event was to bring everyone together, so we can all meet each other, and learn from each other.
The event, the Blind Health Expo has exceeded our expectations. We have approximately 115 Exhibitors, and thousands of attendees. We encourage everyone after the event to email us at info@accessiblepharmacy.com and share with us ideas about how we can make this event more accessible, more interesting, and more engaging. We are hoping to build an even bigger Blind Health Expo next year.
We launched our company in the beginning of the pandemic and we’re very grateful we were able to get through the pandemic and grow as a company. We want to thank everyone, specifically our patients and the healthcare providers who refer patients to us. For those of you who are not working with us, please join us. Everytime we work with a patient, we learn something. And we are able to take that knowledge and support other patients. Our patients are not learning from us, they’re teaching us how to best support the blind and low vision community.
