VisionLink

VisionLink is dedicated to assisting all who are living with vision loss to achieve greater independence through excellence in education and wrap-around support services that advance necessary skills and establish meaningful community connections. VisionLink is committed to collaborating with local, regional and national partners to broaden access to resources and opportunities that enable those we serve to live their lives to the fullest.

VisionLink seeks to inspire all who are living with vision loss to thrive. Services include:

Vision Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) and Independent Living Classes – Training in the use of compensatory skills and assistive technology that will enable individuals to live safe, productive, and independent lives.

Assistive Technology Classes and Workshops – No matter your current skill or comfort level with technology, VisionLink can expand your digital and technological literacy to help you overcome challenges, and expand your ability to learn, communicate, and engage in everyday life in the digital world.

Orientation and Mobility (O&M) training – O&M is provided through one-on-one instruction with skilled trainers according to your individual goals and abilities. This personalized instruction will help you gain the sense of freedom that traveling with a white cane can provide.

Low Vision Resource Center – Offers individualized training designed to develop and strengthen your abilities to navigate, communicate, and engage more fully in everyday life with the goal of maximizing your safety and enjoyment. VisionLink provides referrals to local low vision providers, occupational therapists and other wraparound resources for individuals experiencing low vision. Through the Center, individuals will have access to a range of low vision devices and adaptive equipment for demonstration and purchasing.

We believe thriving means more than simply improving your skills-it also means opportunities to enjoy yourself in all that life has to offer. At VisionLink, we partner with some of the region’s most notable organizations to help you discover new interests and reconnect with activities you enjoyed in the past. This is one of our most important roles in helping you shape and refine your goals for independent living.

The VisionLink community also helps you make new personal connections, whether in a support group with others facing similar challenges, casual time with peers in less-structured settings, or social outings and activities.
