Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF)
Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) is a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities and older adults learn about assistive technology, how smart home technology can be assistive technology, and how to find funding for assistive technology. PATF also has free financial education materials developed specifically for people with disabilities. PATF materials are free and 508-compliant (accessible). PATF does not charge fees for any of its services and serves people of all ages, all income levels, and all disabilities and health conditions from all communities and cultural backgrounds. For people living or working in Pennsylvania or Kentucky, PATF offers 0% and low-interest loans for the purchase of AT.
Assistive technology (AT) makes it possible for people to live independently, go to work and school, communicate, play, and be active in their communities. AT can be hearing aids, screen readers, and Envision and OrCam glasses, but it can also be an air conditioner! We know this technology can be life-changing; our goal is to help people get it, and we know funding can be tricky. PATF publishes a guide of private and public grants where people can apply for funds to purchase assistive technology.
