Hull Foundation and Learning Center for the Blind (featuring Speakaboo!)

The Hull Foundation and Learning Center (HFLC) empowers individuals with vision loss by providing life-changing programs, resources, and support to help them lead independent, fulfilling lives. Located in a sensory appealing, tranquil, and accessible park spanning 22 acres, HFLC offers a variety of programs, including our popular Living With Sight Loss Seminar Series, which equips attendees with adaptive skills for daily living, technology training, and emotional resilience. These immersive, multi-day seminars are designed to support both individuals with sight loss and their caregivers, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.

Situated in scenic Sandy, Oregon, HFLC’s campus is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of blind and low-vision guests, featuring accessible pathways, a sensory garden, a dormitory with pool and spa, and a guide dog-friendly environment. Through getaways and adventure retreats, visually impaired guests enjoy activities like kayaking, hiking, and ziplining, reimagining what’s possible through connection and learning.

During our virtual exhibit we will also be joined by award-winning assistive tech innovator Patrick Burton, creator of Speakaboo and other apps for the blind, who works with us here at the park!
