Core Services
1. Systems and Individual Advocacy
We equip individuals with the tools to advocate for themselves, aiming to dismantle barriers and improve systems for people with disabilities.
2. Independent Living Skills Training
Our training programs teach essential life skills that enhance independence and give individuals greater control over their lives.
3. Peer Counseling and Support
By fostering connections among individuals with shared experiences, we provide mentorship and support that cultivates empowerment and independence.
4. Information and Referral
We connect individuals to essential services and resources within their communities, ensuring they have the support they need.
5. Transition Services
o Institutional Transition: Assisting individuals in moving from institutional settings, such as nursing facilities, to community-based living.
o Youth Transition: Supporting young people with disabilities in preparing for adult life through education, employment, and community engagement.
o Diversion Services: Providing critical support to help individuals with disabilities remain in the community and avoid institutionalization.

• Garden of Giving Food Pantry
A resource for individuals and families in need of food assistance.
• JobQuest Employment Services
Helping individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment opportunities.
• Community Living Services Program (CLSP)
Supporting individuals in living more independently by providing assistive devices, durable medical equipment, home modifications, and vehicle adaptations for eligible persons with disabilities.
• Non-Emergent Transportation
Offering accessible transportation options for individuals with disabilities.
• Housing Services
Advocating for accessible and affordable housing, we provide education and consulting for builders, realtors, and landlords on disability housing needs. We also maintain a list of accessible housing options and available subsidies.
• Support Group
A peer-led support group for individuals with disabilities to share experiences and foster community.
• Emergency Preparedness
Leading initiatives to ensure that emergency plans are inclusive of people with disabilities.
• Fee-Based Services
While ACIL does not charge consumers for most services, we offer fee-for-service options to external groups and organizations. Revenue generated supports our programs for individuals with disabilities.
• ADA Survey
Conducting assessments to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and promote accessibility.
