AER PsychoSocial Services Division
The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) is a professional membership organization dedicated to professionals who provide services to persons with vision loss. We promote and support the professions by advocating for evidence-based practices, high-quality standards, value-added resources, and giving voice to issues of critical importance.
We provide professional development through conferences, virtual offerings, and publications to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and abilities of professionals within the field.
PsychoSocial Services Division Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Psychosocial Services Division is to enrich, strengthen, unify, and look out for the well-being of professionals who have an interest in the provision of mental health counseling, social skills training and guidance, psychosocial and educational assessment, and related services to individuals with visual impairments across the lifespan. We provide training through virtual platforms and in-person sessions on topics within the realm of mental health, social well-being, and assessment.
